Some take old stuff and make it functional again others tap into that primal creative talent and produce interesting sculpture, both are valid efforts in this world. Recently I went to the La Reunion sponsored event at the Nasher Sculpture Center on Saturday to view some of that very kind of sculpture. Built by students of various age levels, the students used items found on the La Reunion acreage. This is where the foundation for early creativity can begin to blossom if tended to properly.

With the green movement currently engulfing the worlds consciousness whether you agree with its political directions or not the ability for young people to look at something from a completely new and interruptive way is important. If the world really does turn into a zombie land of an apocalypse, a green shiny recycling utopia or more likely something in between. The creative ingenuity to recycle is a primal skill that should always be celebrated. Either way sculpture is  great way to get all ages to re-access what they got.

I am William Addington a native Texan, a lover of the arts and a Eagle Scout. Media consumption and media production are my passions as long as they have something to do with Dallas. I saw who shot JR and Walker Texas Ranger is still the baddest mother in Dallas maybe even the state of Texas. Longhorns cause severe bodily harm when you mess with Texas I hear they even whisper the Alamo every now and then.
